Editing export/import CSV files
When opening CSV files with Excel, leading zero's are lost and EAN/TUN numbers
are sometimes changed into scientific numbers. This results in incorrect data.
To overcome this problem do as follows:
- Rename the CSV extension to TXT
- Open Excel
- Select Open and change the file Type to TXT
- Locate the _import_.txt file and select it
- An import wizard will open
- Select TAB or Comma delimited to get the column to format correctly
- On the next window select all the columns and change them to TEXT
Immediately after the file is imported, save the spreadsheet as XLS.
Work on the spreadsheet.
Only on the final save, save the spreadsheet as XLS then save it as a CSV.
Do the import into the UBF.
If changes must be made again, work on the XLS only.
