EAN - How to view a IDF, PPF or IPF generated data file
When EAN files are generated they put in the .\Outbox which is a subdirectory
of your UBF data folder. If the option of "FTP now" was selected the files will
be moved to the .\Sentbox\EanFtp folder.
The data can be viewed in an EXCEL spreadsheet by doing the following:
- Open the file with notepad and remove the header
- For IDF files delete all lines until before "1=Action"
- For IPF files delete all lines until before "1=GLN"
- Save the file as a new name text file
- Open Excel
- Select File/Open
- Change the File Selection Type to *.* or *.txt
- Locate and select the file
- Click Open
- The Text Import Wizard will open up
- Select Delimited / Next
- Select Next
- Press and hold the Shift Key, and right scroll to the last column
- Select the last column (the columns will all become selected)
- Select the "Text" checkbox while the contents are all selected
- Let the Shift Key go
- Click Finished
- The data should now be displayed.
