Registry Corruption - Restoring Registry
This entry is not related to UBF or LBS applications but as a topic of general
interest that might be able to help you out of some trouble in the future.
If your Windows ** refuses to startup there is a possibility that the Windows
registry is corrupt. To recover from a corrupt registry do as follows:
Reboot the computer
- While rebooting, hold the CTRL Key down which will cause the computer to boot
to a DOS prompt.
Once at the DOS prompt type "SCANREG /RESTORE"
(If you get a message of unknown file name, enter the full path as
c:\windows\command\scanreg /restore)
- A list of the last 5 registry backups will be shown.
- Select a date that is before the day when you encountered the problem.
The computer will now startup with older registry entries so if you had loaded
any new programs their settings might be lost.
