UBF - EANnet

Medium/Small Business Solution

The Australian Brokers and Manufacturers Lobby (ABML), in conjunction with dennis, keenan & associates pty ltd, announce the General Availability of Version 6.00 of the UBF software.

The UBF software has been extensively upgraded to include the necessary processing to enable the 'uploading' of item, price and promotional data to the EANnet® industry catalogue.

The EANnet processing is distributed as a chargeable,  'add-in' module to the base UBF software and consists of two primary components:

·         EANnet Item Properties

This component includes all of the relevant processing required to 'upload' item data to the EANnet catalogue.

It requires the user to complete the entry of additional fields which were not previously included in the UBF database.

Once entered, these fields are used, in conjunction with previously existing data, to create submissions which are then uploaded to the EANnet catalogue.

Submissions created are retained within the UBF database in a similar manner to the existing paper-based submissions.   This provides an audit trail of the data sent to EAN for checking and validation purposes.

Extensive editing and validation of the entered data is undertaken to ensure that the submission data, when sent is correct.

Access to all EANnet functions within the UBF is password protected to ensure only authorised details are available for transmission to EANnet.

To use the EANnet functions and facilities which are external to the UBF software, such as EAN membership registration, mail box access etc, requires you to contact EAN (Australia) prior to creating and sending submissions from the UBF.

An Import facility allows for the importing of data from other databases into the UBF.

This includes all of the additional data elements required by EANnet.

·         EANnet Item Price Data

This includes all of the relevant processing required to 'upload' price data to EANnet.

Industry Deadline

Both Coles and Metcash have indicated that vendors are required to be EANnet compliant by the end of JUNE 2003. The UBF-EANnet solution provides a low-cost mechanism to enable you to meet this deadline.
